Saturn Turns Retrograde

Source: astronomylinks.com
Saturn turns retrograde today at 12:02 PM EST making it's way back through Scorpio until July 8th 2013 when it turns direct and starts moving forward again. Most of us are pretty familiar with hearing when Mercury goes retrograde.. the dreaded "communications are jumbled" or "expect electronics to break" comes up quite often. But what does it mean when Saturn goes in "reverse"?

Those that have planets close to 11 degrees within Scorpio, or within the other water signs of Cancer or Pisces or earthy ruling sign of Capricorn, are most likely to feel this energy a little stronger. Saturn is the responsible one. He puts things in check. When your Saturn return happens at around 28-30 years old, and then again at 57-60, you start taking stock at where you are in your life and what you've accomplished. When Saturn goes retrograde, it's a little bit of the same thing. Just on a smaller scale! While Mercury can go retrograde 3-4 times a year for about 3 weeks, Saturn only goes retrograde once a year or right around 378 days for a stretch of 138 days! This give you the time to weed out what's working and what's not!

Saturn rules Capricorn, but is currently in the sign of Scorpio. Capricorn is an Earth sign, while Scorpio is a Water sign. Think about it in this instance.. the Grand Canyon (Earth) was carved out from the Colorado River (Water) and its tributaries in millions of years. Even though it took time, it is a site to behold! And that is what Saturn reminds us of. Sticking to our commitments and knowing that when the effort is put in we'll be rewarded greatly with the end result! The sign that Saturn is in shows us where we need to be aware of our karma, the rules that we place on ourselves, and where we best learn from our experiences. Being in Scorpio  we may feel as though we've lost a sense of ourselves or that we're needing to give over our control and give into the chaos! Scorpio is an intense and sensual sign and we are able to delve deep within ourselves to get to the heart of what we are wanting in our life, but it is with complete and total honesty without needing to feel that we have to deny ourselves of true happiness! That is not to say we would be selfish, but we will realize that our desires are not solely based on the wants and needs of others but what we are able to create with our own free will! So if you've felt that you just couldn't do something because someone else might not understand why you would want to or you're worried about how you might be perceived; do it! Do it for yourself! Otherwise, you may end up with some resentment or kicking yourself later for not ever taking the chance. It reminds me of the quote; "Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards." by Soren Kierkegaard.

Of course this energy will affect everyone differently since not everyone's charts are the same! But while Saturn is taking it's time to make us take a look at things, let's remember that the choices we make in the present are what will make a change in our future! These choices can be something that directly effect something 5 minutes, 5 months, or 5 years from now! But as long as we keep trying and persevere, we will be rewarded for our efforts however little or great they may be!

I hope the next few months give you the tenacity you need to bring about some long standing stability and that you're able to learn from the lessons Saturn is able to teach! If you would like me to take a more in depth look at how Saturn and the other planets are affecting you, please send me a message at facebook or my email and I'll be glad to help!

Take care!

Accept Nothing But The Best! Quality Over Quantity!

“Quality is not an act.  It is a habit.” ~Aristotle

“The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different outcomes.” ~Einstein

“Quality is more important than quantity. One home run is much better than two doubles.” ~Steve Jobs

This image totally had me laughing!! When I first went on a mission to find a good one there was a closet full  of shoes, which while it was great and conveyed the message well.. I thought this one was cuter! And we all know I'd much rather have something be humorous than be dull and boring! Anyways, let's get into this post!

So, things have been rather interesting through this Mercury Retrograde period... and as it moved out of Sagittarius and back into Scorpio, I've noticed more of an inward reflection coming about from many people. Some of them have been good, others maybe not so much. But hey, everyone's got their things to deal with in their own way. Which is how this post came about!!

For a while I've felt that I was selling myself short. Anyone that knows me well, knows that I'm not really one for confrontation. I would much rather come to a compromise.. even if it usually ends up that I'm the one compromising a little more than someone else! However, there comes a point when compromising too much ends up causing more problems than it's worth!! Now I might be going a little off track some, but it'll make sense.. I hope! LOL!

I've had clients ask me "how come you charge different amounts at different sites?!". The reason for this is because of commission and payment structure. One site I just started with has a grace period to which they start you off at a set price and once you are past that, you can change it. It's the cheapest at the moment.. so if you find me there; you're definitely getting a HUGE deal! However, another site I've worked on for years takes HALF of my pay and they only pay once a month. Which with 4 kids, definitely takes some bill juggling to make sure things are paid on time!! Another site, I pay a smaller commission and am paid automatically, although besides their commission I end up paying fees on the payments. Sooo.. the short explanation is that I charge what I can on the sites based on what the commission is! I always try to be as fair as possible and $2.00/minute is what I charge my personal clients that are not going to these sites. The standard going rate for services within a metaphysical shop in most major cities is between $1.50 - $3.00/minute.

Ok so back to the quality over quantity... Now, on occasion I will offer my services at a discounted "special" rate. Actually I'll be having one in the next few days for Thanksgiving! So keep your eyes peeled! However, sometimes clients take this as that I've now lowered my rate and they should be able to keep receiving this rate for their sessions. This unfortunately happens more times than I'd like and has led me to question whether specials are something I should offer. But my guides say yes, so I just listen! But this reliance of a discounted rate then ends up creating more of a dependency on readings and it because more of a quantity over quality situation! A client may spend more time in a session and not really being focused because they feel they are able to take more time chit chatting than if they were focused on getting to the heart of the matter. And while chit chatting is perfectly acceptable within a reading, the main focus should be getting the information that you are direly seeking! And NOT seeking it out every other day either!!! There needs to be a self-reliance on your own intuition to bring yourself closer to the Universe! If you are seeking it through others, you will only end up feeling further away when you try to figure out the "quality" of the information you are receiving!

Now.. unfortunately this brings up another point I have to make. In this day and age of "drive thru service" there has become quite the influx of spiritual and/or psychic "gurus". I am eternally grateful that I've been able to study with some of the absolute best mentors. However, there are many that pick up a deck of Tarot cards or read a book, give a couple readings to themselves and friends and think, "Oh I can make money doing this". And while I DO mentor many people that somewhat come from this train of thought, I let them know upfront that practicing in an unscrupulous way will do nothing for them in the long run. There's a reason I've been able to work solely in this line of work for the last 12 years... it's because I'm honest. Am I wrong at times? Sure. I'm only human.. I might not interpret something my guides give me in the right way or there's always this pesky thing called free will that can change in a blink of an eye. But for the most part, I'm rather eerily accurate with things. Unfortunately though there is a lot of talk between those of us that are honest about the "sweat shop psychics" that have been popping up lately. They not only are hurting the sites that we work on, they're hurting the whole industry with the mockery they are making of our work! I akin them to the knockoff purses.. they might look the part on the outside, but they most certainly are NOT the real deal!

To which I now need to make another extremely valid point... there is NO governing entity that will certify that someone's training means any more than the paper it is printed on. So while there may be those out there with Master Tarot Reader certifications or whatever, they don't mean a damn thing! In this line of work, you must be EXTREMELY diligent with your research in who you would trust to give you advice with your life choices. While I do have certifications within certain fields, I don't feel as though they entirely convey the quality of service I strive to give! There are very good mentors that are still available and there are some that have given up because of this whole certification collecting mentality that suddenly came about. Whether or not someone has a certification is not going to help you know whether the information you receive is going to be accurate. That only comes from trusting yourself and the trust you feel from their genuineness to help you!

So I definitely want to close out this post in saying.. do your research! ANY psychic, reader, healer, or mentor should have no problems answering questions about themselves to you before you look to them for services. If they're only out for the money.. they're not going to have your best interests in mind and will most likely only be telling you what you want to hear! Most sites will have reviews that can somewhat give some insight into how accurate a reader may be, however, some of these reviews may also be FAKE. Word of mouth can be really great and most honest readers are more than happy to give referrals if they don't feel they would be able to assist you. Get to really know your reader and definitely don't put us on any sort of pedestal! We're really no different than anyone else.. as I always say... EVERYONE IS PSYCHIC!!!

And with that I'm going to invite you to get to know me on my Facebook or at Twitter.. I gotta say I'm a lot more active on Facebook than anywhere else. But I'm trying to get back into the Twitter groove again. Along with figuring out a schedule to get some damn posts on here more regularly! LOL! So I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and if you would like a reading, healing, etc. just send me a message at my email or Facebook and I'll get back to you ASAP!

Have a blessed day!

Black & White: It's all about intention!

I had a great experience on Chance's radio show yesterday!! But I did want to touch on a few things real quick since we did have a limited amount of time. Chance had asked me about "white" magick vs. "black" magick, and I had focused more on how I see the difference.. when really I could of simplified it as this... There is NO black or white magick in all truth. The energy is just there and doesn't really "pick sides"! It is really in the intention of the person doing the working!! Now, here's a way to think of it as well... In art, black is the absence of all visible light, while white is filled with the complete spectrum. And if we didn't have black; we wouldn't have shadows, defining lines, etc.. And the same goes for white as it is the highlights! Black is just the absence of light, but that doesn't mean that there isn't anything there; while with white, EVERYTHING is there and very well could "overshadow" your main cause. So, we really do need both!

As I said in the show, we are souls in a physical body living a human experience. And we very well could say "I'm not going to get angry", but we would need to also see what the cost of that expression may bring us to as well. Sometimes you DO need to get angry! Anger is directly related to a PASSIONATE response. You need to have that passion in order to reach your goals or you become apathetic! Now, while I do resonate more as a Pagan, rather than a Wiccan. I do believe Wicca is a very good religion for some that are reclaiming a part of themself that they may have lost due to some oppression they may have faced. It definitely was that way for me! But as I walked the path, I also realized I WAS suppressing a very needed part of my life as well and that is why I no longer felt I would call myself Wiccan. ALL Wiccan's are Pagan, but not all Pagan's are Wiccan, and all Witches are not necessarily Pagan either.. I've met PLENTY of Christian Witches!! So now I want to go over some of the "rules".

The main difference between Paganism and Wicca is that Wiccan's have the Rede and Law of Three. The short version of the Rede is simply; "An ye harm none, do what ye will." Here is the extended version of the Wiccan Rede.

Bide ye the Wiccan laws ye must, in perfect love and perfect trust.
Ye must live and let live, fairly take and fairly give.

Cast the Circle thrice about, to keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be spoken in rhyme.

Soft of eye and light of touch, speak ye little and listen much.
Deosil go by waxing moon, chanting out the Wiccan runes.
Widddershins go by waning moon, chanting out the baneful tune.

When the Lady's moon is new, kiss the hand of Her times two.
When the moon rides at Her peak, then the heart's desire seek.

Heed the North wind's mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail.
When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss thee on the mouth.
When the Moor wind blows from the West, departed spirits have no rest.
When the wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast.

Nine woods in the cauldron go, burn them quick and burn them slow.
Elder be the Lady's tree, burn it not or cursed ye'll be.

When the wheel begins to turn, let the Beltane fires burn.
When the wheel has turned to Yule, light the log and the Horned One rules.

Heed ye flower, bush and tree, by the Lady, Blessed be.
Where the rippling waters go, cast a stone, the truth to know.

When ye have and hold a need, hearken not to other's greed.
With a fool no seasons spend, or be counted as his friend.

Merry meet and merry part, bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Mind the Threefold Law ye should, three times bad and three times good.

When misfortune is enow, wear the blue star on your brow.
True in love ye must ever be, lest ye love be false to thee.

These words the Wiccan Rede fulfill,: An ye harm none, do what ye will.

Now the Law of Three is simply that what you send out, you get back 3 times! So send out good, get good back 3 times as good! This is one I kinda never understood.. mostly because I'm a science nerd so I never really figured there was some sort of law that would change this other than what you send out, you get back.. plain and simple. This is seen in Newton's Laws! Law 1 states, "Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it." So as I said, magick is magick.. it doesn't subscribe to "white" or "black" until the intent is applied! Law 3 states, "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." Nowhere does it say that the action or reaction becomes amplified! I then felt that the saying of "All that is, is." was also a very good way to look at things in this way. So now we come to some more rules or laws..

Spiritual Laws of the Craft
1. No truth is absolute.
2. The Universe consists of opposites.
3. For every action there is a reaction.
4. We are all one, we are all connected.
5. The ultimate act of spirituality is creation through love manifesting harmony.
6. What we give to spirit will return to us.
7. We must never close our mind to knowledge.
8. A circle is a holy place, negativity is not acceptable.
9. The body of the witch is used to channel and focus energy,
tools are merely focusing aids.
10. Use common sense, to not teach the mysteries to fools.
11. Witches are not to give the identities of other witches as
discrimination still haunts the earth.
12. Acknowledge the presence of the Gods in your daily life through word and deed.
13. The Earth is a living being; take care how you live on your host.

The Practical Laws of the Craft
1. Never use a system you do not understand.
2. Do not set a price on magickal work (other than supplies and time/energy used).
3. Never use your magickal skills to show off.
4. Learn to banish first, as binding may be overkill.
5. Know that what is created it thought manifests in reality.
6. Never lie to yourself.
7. Injuries, sickness often result from low self-esteem, RARELY from negative magick.
8. Power grows in relation to wisdom.
9. Take great caution in using magick for negative purposes.
10. Never do less than your best.
11. Do not give into the negative words of others about your faith or lifestyle.
12. Witches are not to give the identities of other Witches as discrimination still haunts the Earth.
13. Do not lend out your Magickal Record.
14. Property owned should be guarded mundanely and spiritually.
15. Do not seek revenge; the Gods and laws of karma will punish sufficiently.
16. Respect the science of magick, but it is not sacred.
17. Sex is not to be used for ritual unless between consenting, mature adults.
It is NEVER used in teaching.
18. Teaching is not done for money, and must be in a safe environment,
with equal rights for both student and teacher.

13 Goals of a Witch
1. Know yourself.
2. Know your Craft.
3. Learn.
4. Apply knowledge with wisdom.
5. Achieve balance.
6. Keep your words in good order.
7. Keep your thoughts in good order, thoughts are things.
8. Celebrate life.
9. Attune with the cycles of the Earth.
10. Breathe and eat correctly.
11. Exercise the body.
12. Meditate, exercise the mind.
13. Honor the Gods and the Old Ways.

As you can see, many of these rules and laws are very much COMMON SENSE! And still contains the old adage of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!". Witches, Wiccan's and Pagan's are your neighbors, your friends, and your family! I really love the part in Practical Magic where the one aunt tells the ladies involved in their circle that "There's a little Witch in all of us!".

If you would like to explore Earth based spirituality with me, I will soon be offering a class!! Please send me a message at facebook or my email if you would like to be placed on the class list or receive more info!! I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend and stop back by soon for Tarotscopes!

Many Blessings!

Working with Animal Spirit Guides

Working with your animal spirits or totems doesn't need to be tough! You probably are already, in some sort of capacity, connecting with your animal energies. These animal spirits aid us on our path of self discovery and teach us about life and the world as we perceive it! The life of a cheetah will not be the same as the life of a bumblebee!! But both are equally as important.

Animal spirits can often be revealed in our dreams, and also by meditation. At this time it is important to pay attention to any information the animal passes on. Also keeping in mind the scenario being presented as well and if or how it pertains to life situations. Animals are instinctive. So they will react to their situations very differently than humans!

You may want to start keeping a journal or devote a section in a notebook or your Book of Shadows (BOS) on your animal guides. You guides, for the most part, are with you for life and RARELY change. There are secondary guides that may come and go, but you have 9 primary animal totems that are a part of you from the beginning!

Things you will want to keep track of:

○ What sort of animal was it? Did it fly or swim? Does it have fur or scales?
○ Did the animal act naturally or directly with you? Did the animal interact with other animals or humans? Were the same types of animals interacting?
○ Were you in the animals natural environment or another?

You may also want to take a look at a few other ways animals impact you:

○ Favorite childhood and current pets. Animals you seem to naturally connect with.
○ Animals you do not like, negative associations you have with them. (ex. snakes are "slimy")
○ Any animals you seem to notice on a regular basis; what do you feel they are trying to
tell you, do they appear at certain times?

The 9 animal totems

The Eastern Guide:
This Animal guides you to your highest Spiritual challenges. Assists in your learning, ascension and illumination.

The Western Guide:
This Animal guides you to your inner being, your emotional self. Aids in opening 3rd eye and shows true path to goals.

The Southern Guide:
This Animal guides you with your trust and humility. Spiritually, Emotionally, Mentally, Physically & Financially will help keep you balanced when faced with aversion.

The Northern Guide:
This Animal guides your inner wisdom. Karmic right and wrong. Reminds you to be grateful and for the blessings you have daily.

The Guide Above:
This Animal teaches you to honor the Universe. The guardian of Dreams, also guides you to other dimensions.

The Guide Below:
This Animal guides you to be in touch with Mother Earth. Guidance with staying grounded and on your path.

The Guide Within:
This Animal guides you to manifest your desire and stay true to yourself. Creates with your experiences. Protector of your sacred space.

The Right and the Left Guide animals are always with you.
Some people already know who these animals are, or who at least one of them will be.

The Right Guide:
This Animal is your male/father side, the protector and instills courage, spirit and strength within you.

The Left Guide:
This Animal is your female/mother side and teaches you to take care of yourself and all others. Help and receive abundance. Emotional relationships and mothering.

Numbers Everywhere

It never fails that whenever I start thinking about numbers or numerology, I immediately start hearing "numbers, numbers, everywhere!". I must have seen that Blues Clues episode a few too many times, but that can happen when you have kids! It very much is the truth though and numbers ARE everywhere!! This is somewhat a secondary posting off of my 11:11 Are YOU Awakened? post. While they are somewhat different topics, the numbers meanings hold true across many modalities.

Numerology is the study of numbers and their influence on life. It's an arithmetic system that reveals your character, personality, and experiences through applying daily and yearly progression. Numerology can provide a deep karmic profile when we apply the meaning of individual numbers to our birth name, given name and birth date. Just as a natal astrological chart is cast at the time of your birth and gives you an outlook on your life, numerology has the capability of doing the same thing. By using your name and your birth date, a numerologist is able to provide an interpretive profile.

The numbers of our name describe the things we were born knowing. The numbers of our birth date describe the things we need to learn. By adding the birth month and day with the current year, we're given our Personal Year Number. The most common of Numerology readings is the Life Path Number, which takes the birth month, day, and year.

These are some basic meanings of Life Path Numbers:

1 - Keyword: LEADER

There are a few double-digit numbers that, while they are rooted in the single-digit numbers, require special emphasis and attention.

They are called Master numbers because they possess more potential than other numbers. They are highly charged and can be difficult to handle. They may require time, maturity, and great effort to integrate into one's personality.

11 - Keyword: IDEALIST
