Celebrate Lammas - Harvest Your Abundance!

Happy Lammas!! Or Lughnasadh if that's what you like to celebrate! While usually I like to include a little bit of history on what the holidays mean, I'm just going to point you to my first post Celebrate Lammas ~ Count Your Blessings! where you can find out some more information (and goodies!) about it and give you a little cliff note version here. Lammas is the first of the three harvest celebrations; the other two being Mabon and Samhain. It is a cross-quarter holiday, halfway between the Summer Solstice (Litha) and the Autumnal Equinox (Mabon). On the Wheel of the Year, it is opposite Imbolc. While there's still plenty of time left in the growing season, this is a good time to make a blessing for further abundance to come into your life and to be grateful for what's already been achieved! This summer seemed to be a scorcher for a good part of the US.. I didn't notice it too much being in FL, but many of my friends in OH said it was either too hot or too rainy and they didn't get to enjoy the summer very much. But the cooler temps with bonfire get together's and the anticipation of getting the kiddos back into the routine of school is being welcomed! But since it's the cooler season now there is some GREAT gardening that can be done! So check out Vegetables and Herbs to Plant in August or I'm sure you can check the month of September too if you need some time to prepare, and also your USDA Hardiness Zone so you can better plan what you can plant as well! It's so wonderful when you're able to harvest your own food and you can feel a sense of accomplishment that comes from nurturing a plant while mother nature does her thing!

Now.. I'm sure you're wondering what's with the picture I used too! Maybe you saw it posted on my instagram or twitter account! It's the goody I'm including for this post! This is my Lammas Harvest Tarot Spread! And here's how it works... The layout itself is a basket! There are 6 cards to symbolize balance, service, home and domesticness, and responsibility. The number 6 in numerology also has ties to agriculture.. see how it all ties in!? Here is what each card represents...

Card #1 - Where I am at.. I received the Queen of Pentacles! I took this as a good sign that I'm making the right choices in my business decisions.

Card #2 - Where I need to have more focus.. I got The Shadow Side since I am using the Witches Tarot, but most know it as The Devil. I'll take that as a sign that I need to make sure that I don't lose sight of what's in front of me and get too wrapped up in my work!

Card #3 - Where will I find my strength.. With the Six of Pentacles I'm taking that to give as much as I receive!

Card #4 - The help I will receive unexpectedly.. Oh the Fool.. you just never know the potential that is there until you try something different!

Card #5 - What comes next.. The Emperor blesses me with a solid foundation from the experiences I've learned from!

Card #6 - The bountiful fruits of labor.. Celebration in my creativity and lasting friendships from sharing and caring! Fabulous success!!

Guess what.. I also have the printable available too!! So if you'd like to add it to your journal, here is the doc and pdf files you can download! Take some time to count your blessings and to think about what more you would like to accomplish before settling into the Winter slumber!

As always, if you'd like me to take a look at things for you with a reading I'd be more than happy to! Just send me a message at my email or facebook! Also.. if you missed my tweet earlier; I am currently offering a special of an hour worth of chat reading for $100!! This can be spread over multiple sessions!! I hope you're enjoying your week so far!! Only a couple more days til the weekend! Woo hoo!!!

Many Blessings!

Celebrate Imbolc ~ Inspire Yourself!

Happy Imbolc!! This is actually one of my favorite holidays. Well, actually I enjoyed it a lot more when I lived up north as it really was a time where you knew that you were half way through Winter. Especially when Groundhog's Day would be so close and you'd be hoping that he didn't see his shadow and Spring would come early. And it looks like this year it's happening as Punxsutawney Phil didn't see his shadow! But not so fast, technically the start of Spring is March 20th when the Sun moves into Aries at the Spring Eqiunox (Ostara). Which even if he did happen to see his shadow and there would be 6 more weeks of Winter, it's still about the same amount of time anyways!!

Imbolc is also known as Candlemas, Brigantia, Lupercus, Disting and various other names for different countries and traditions! All the celebrations revolve around the banishment of Winter. Brigid, Brighde, Brigit, or Brede; among other spellings, is the primary Goddess associated with this holiday and her name means "bright one". She is a triple Goddess in that she has the qualities of Maiden, Mother, and Crone. She is the Goddess of inspiration, creativity, poetry, prophecy, healing/medicine, fertility, fire, smithcrafting, and other crafts. I like to think of her as a can do crafty Mom! Brigid's Crosses are popular to make at this time and actually are very easy, click HERE to learn how! Traditionally they are made to protect the house from fire, but they also associated with keeping away disease and negativity and for protection in general. I actually posted a pic earlier on Facebook of the Dalai Lama holding up a Brigid's Cross while he has been visiting Ireland!

At this time it is good to welcome change! Get yourself out of old ruts and shake up your routine! It might not be the time to delve into Spring cleaning just yet, but you could change some things up such as painting a room, buying some new curtains or bedding, or even some organizational items. This is a time to be celebrating the things that are yet to be born and are waiting to be awakened from Winter's cold slumber. So with that, here is a candle spell for inspiration!!

✪ Spell for Inspiration
Items needed: 3 candles; 1 to represent the Goddess (dark blue or silver), 1 to represent you, and 1 for the inspirational focus. See my post on Manifesting with Candle Magick for a listing of candle colors!!

Arrange the candles in a triangle with the inspirational candle at the top, the Goddess candle to the right (the active side; as She will help guide you to your goal!), and your candle to the bottom left point (the receptive side). Light your candles in the reverse order as placed; left (you), Goddess (right), inspiration (top). Take a moment to focus on your goal and then say the following:

"Candle bright, burning fire.
Shine within me and inspire.
Listen to the words I speak,
and clear a path to what I seek.
Let my wishes all come true,
as they burn so bright with you!
For the good of all with harm to none,
as I will, let it be done!"

If you are looking for inspiration for writing or other craft work, try doing some while the candles are burning! The energy will be amplified if you start putting some of the work in immediately during the spell itself. Continue to let the candles burn down for as long as possible, preferably completely. But if you can't, take any remnants and either bury them in some dirt, throw them in a body of water, or just toss them in the trash!

I hope this holiday blesses you with an awakening inspiration and transformation! And if you would like me to personalize some spellwork for you or would like me to take a look at any pressing matter you might have or you would like to enjoy some healing, take a look at my services page or send me a message at my email or facebook and I'd be happy to assist you!

Many Blessings!!

Celebrate Ostara

Happy Ostara (also Eostara, Eostre) or also known as the Spring/Vernal Equinox! It is celebrated when night and day are in perfect balance. That is, they are the same amount of hours. At this time we are inviting the fertility of the Earth to awaken. So, it is also the first day of Spring!!! Which believe me, after being in FL for a few years and experiencing Winter again, I'm MORE than happy Spring has sprung! Now is the time to consider what goals or wishes you would like to achieve that you will nurture for the next few months to blossom and grow!

With my last Celebrate Ostara post, I talked about gardening and how I bless my seeds for the upcoming growing season. This time, I'm going to focus more on manifesting goals! Now is the perfect time for achieving new or uncompleted goals, wishes and dreams! No more excuses for why you may be hindering your growth! In a sense you will be blooming yourself! :)

With many of my spells I like to work with candles. Candle flames are seen on all astral levels and can carry your workings out into these planes. The flames can also be a representation of the growing sunlight as well as your goals being achieved! There is an old wives tale of burning green candles at the Equinox to bring in financial prosperity, but this of course could also be used for any manifestation by substituting another candle color; pink for love, purple for spirituality/psychic abilities, etc. You can find more information on my post Manifesting with Candle Magick.

First steps:
I begin by cleansing my home and self by lighting a sage stick. Then I will bless my candles to be used. If I'm using oils on them, I will "dress" them and inscribe any symbols I would like them to have, then will hold them in my hands and focus my intent into them, following up with infusing them with Reiki energy as well. If I'm making incense, I will gather all the ingredients and will bless them and leave them on my altar. Because I am such a visual person, when I manifest, I like to have a list to focus on as well. Sometimes I'll make it super pretty with Photoshop and other times I'll just use a piece of paper and doodle my own designs on it to spiffy it up, and still other times I will make a wish board with pictures of what I'd like to manifest! The main purpose to any spell work or energy work is to make it work for YOU and the best way you can feel your energy pouring into it!

Next steps:
Set everything up!! You'll want your space to look pretty! Especially if you would like to do the working more than once. Usually I can find some pretty good flowers at Walmart or the grocery store that'll make the altar look nice! Set up the candles, and incense if you're using it.

Begin the work:
Depending on your beliefs, you may or may not cast a circle to work within. Either way if you do or don't, take a moment to center your thoughts and do a light meditation to get yourself ready for the work. After, you may want to call in some deities if you work with them, but if not, you can just start with the manifesting! Light your incense and candles and begin stating your affirmations you would like to manifest. Here are a few examples!

Personal:
I choose my happiness and eliminate negative thoughts that keep me from my goals.
I trust the Universe and what I need or want is always taken care of.
I completely accept myself and others as unique beings.

Prosperity:
I give thanks for my substantial increase in my finances.
I trust that I have far more than what I feel is needed coming my way.
My work is deeply fulfilling and I will receive the income I need.

Love:
I am open to giving and receiving love.
I am worthy to be loved and will share my love of life with others.
The love I have been looking for has been present all along.

Health:
My body and mind are happy and healthy.
My body is receiving the proper care that it requires.
I am healthy and strong and love my body.

Now, these are just some examples and I'm sure there are far more available on the internet with a quick Google search of "affirmations" or you will be able to come up with some that are just as effective! Besides writing or chanting your desires you just need to relax, keep positive and allow time for the ritual to work it's magick for you!

There are many ways to celebrate this wonderful holiday! If you need any help personalizing your spiritual path, feel free to send me a message at my email or facebook and I'd be more than happy to help you!!

May you have a Blessed Ostara!

Black & White: It's all about intention!

I had a great experience on Chance's radio show yesterday!! But I did want to touch on a few things real quick since we did have a limited amount of time. Chance had asked me about "white" magick vs. "black" magick, and I had focused more on how I see the difference.. when really I could of simplified it as this... There is NO black or white magick in all truth. The energy is just there and doesn't really "pick sides"! It is really in the intention of the person doing the working!! Now, here's a way to think of it as well... In art, black is the absence of all visible light, while white is filled with the complete spectrum. And if we didn't have black; we wouldn't have shadows, defining lines, etc.. And the same goes for white as it is the highlights! Black is just the absence of light, but that doesn't mean that there isn't anything there; while with white, EVERYTHING is there and very well could "overshadow" your main cause. So, we really do need both!

As I said in the show, we are souls in a physical body living a human experience. And we very well could say "I'm not going to get angry", but we would need to also see what the cost of that expression may bring us to as well. Sometimes you DO need to get angry! Anger is directly related to a PASSIONATE response. You need to have that passion in order to reach your goals or you become apathetic! Now, while I do resonate more as a Pagan, rather than a Wiccan. I do believe Wicca is a very good religion for some that are reclaiming a part of themself that they may have lost due to some oppression they may have faced. It definitely was that way for me! But as I walked the path, I also realized I WAS suppressing a very needed part of my life as well and that is why I no longer felt I would call myself Wiccan. ALL Wiccan's are Pagan, but not all Pagan's are Wiccan, and all Witches are not necessarily Pagan either.. I've met PLENTY of Christian Witches!! So now I want to go over some of the "rules".

The main difference between Paganism and Wicca is that Wiccan's have the Rede and Law of Three. The short version of the Rede is simply; "An ye harm none, do what ye will." Here is the extended version of the Wiccan Rede.

Bide ye the Wiccan laws ye must, in perfect love and perfect trust.
Ye must live and let live, fairly take and fairly give.

Cast the Circle thrice about, to keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be spoken in rhyme.

Soft of eye and light of touch, speak ye little and listen much.
Deosil go by waxing moon, chanting out the Wiccan runes.
Widddershins go by waning moon, chanting out the baneful tune.

When the Lady's moon is new, kiss the hand of Her times two.
When the moon rides at Her peak, then the heart's desire seek.

Heed the North wind's mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail.
When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss thee on the mouth.
When the Moor wind blows from the West, departed spirits have no rest.
When the wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast.

Nine woods in the cauldron go, burn them quick and burn them slow.
Elder be the Lady's tree, burn it not or cursed ye'll be.

When the wheel begins to turn, let the Beltane fires burn.
When the wheel has turned to Yule, light the log and the Horned One rules.

Heed ye flower, bush and tree, by the Lady, Blessed be.
Where the rippling waters go, cast a stone, the truth to know.

When ye have and hold a need, hearken not to other's greed.
With a fool no seasons spend, or be counted as his friend.

Merry meet and merry part, bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Mind the Threefold Law ye should, three times bad and three times good.

When misfortune is enow, wear the blue star on your brow.
True in love ye must ever be, lest ye love be false to thee.

These words the Wiccan Rede fulfill,: An ye harm none, do what ye will.

Now the Law of Three is simply that what you send out, you get back 3 times! So send out good, get good back 3 times as good! This is one I kinda never understood.. mostly because I'm a science nerd so I never really figured there was some sort of law that would change this other than what you send out, you get back.. plain and simple. This is seen in Newton's Laws! Law 1 states, "Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it." So as I said, magick is magick.. it doesn't subscribe to "white" or "black" until the intent is applied! Law 3 states, "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." Nowhere does it say that the action or reaction becomes amplified! I then felt that the saying of "All that is, is." was also a very good way to look at things in this way. So now we come to some more rules or laws..

Spiritual Laws of the Craft
1. No truth is absolute.
2. The Universe consists of opposites.
3. For every action there is a reaction.
4. We are all one, we are all connected.
5. The ultimate act of spirituality is creation through love manifesting harmony.
6. What we give to spirit will return to us.
7. We must never close our mind to knowledge.
8. A circle is a holy place, negativity is not acceptable.
9. The body of the witch is used to channel and focus energy,
tools are merely focusing aids.
10. Use common sense, to not teach the mysteries to fools.
11. Witches are not to give the identities of other witches as
discrimination still haunts the earth.
12. Acknowledge the presence of the Gods in your daily life through word and deed.
13. The Earth is a living being; take care how you live on your host.

The Practical Laws of the Craft
1. Never use a system you do not understand.
2. Do not set a price on magickal work (other than supplies and time/energy used).
3. Never use your magickal skills to show off.
4. Learn to banish first, as binding may be overkill.
5. Know that what is created it thought manifests in reality.
6. Never lie to yourself.
7. Injuries, sickness often result from low self-esteem, RARELY from negative magick.
8. Power grows in relation to wisdom.
9. Take great caution in using magick for negative purposes.
10. Never do less than your best.
11. Do not give into the negative words of others about your faith or lifestyle.
12. Witches are not to give the identities of other Witches as discrimination still haunts the Earth.
13. Do not lend out your Magickal Record.
14. Property owned should be guarded mundanely and spiritually.
15. Do not seek revenge; the Gods and laws of karma will punish sufficiently.
16. Respect the science of magick, but it is not sacred.
17. Sex is not to be used for ritual unless between consenting, mature adults.
It is NEVER used in teaching.
18. Teaching is not done for money, and must be in a safe environment,
with equal rights for both student and teacher.

13 Goals of a Witch
1. Know yourself.
2. Know your Craft.
3. Learn.
4. Apply knowledge with wisdom.
5. Achieve balance.
6. Keep your words in good order.
7. Keep your thoughts in good order, thoughts are things.
8. Celebrate life.
9. Attune with the cycles of the Earth.
10. Breathe and eat correctly.
11. Exercise the body.
12. Meditate, exercise the mind.
13. Honor the Gods and the Old Ways.

As you can see, many of these rules and laws are very much COMMON SENSE! And still contains the old adage of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!". Witches, Wiccan's and Pagan's are your neighbors, your friends, and your family! I really love the part in Practical Magic where the one aunt tells the ladies involved in their circle that "There's a little Witch in all of us!".

If you would like to explore Earth based spirituality with me, I will soon be offering a class!! Please send me a message at facebook or my email if you would like to be placed on the class list or receive more info!! I hope you all are having a fabulous weekend and stop back by soon for Tarotscopes!

Many Blessings!

Celebrate Lammas ~ Count your blessings!

Lammas, often called Lughnasadh, is the first harvest celebration and while it does mark the middle of summer, most will see it as the beginning of cooler weather as Autumn starts to descend. It is a cross-quarter holiday, halfway between the Summer Solstice (Litha) and the Autumnal Equinox (Mabon). On the Wheel of the Year, it is opposite Imbolc. Since this is the first of the harvest festivals, and there's still plenty of time left in the growing season, this is a good time to make a blessing for any further abundance to come into your life.

At this time we are thankful for the first harvests of the season, mostly grains and fruits, and will include these in our sabbat feast. Traditionally this is a time to bake bread. If you've never made bread before, it can be somewhat tricky. Mostly because humidity (and sometimes altitude) plays a BIG factor in letting the dough rise! I've learned this the hard way that bread you make in CO, will not be the same sort of bread you get in OH or even FL and little tweaks will need to happen. Now, I would include my super secret bread recipe, but lemme tell ya.. it's a PAIN to get right. So in order to save everyone's sanity, I'm going to put up my second favorite bread recipe; CORN BREAD!! I absolutely love corn bread!! It's also really easy to make! Here's what you'll need:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup white sugar (I've also tried this with 1/3 cup of white and 1/3 cup of brown sugar! YUM!)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease an 8 inch square pan or a loaf pan.
  2. Melt the butter on the stove or in microwave. Stir in sugar. Add eggs and beat until blended. Combine your milk with baking soda and stir into butter/egg mixture. Then add in cornmeal, flour, and salt.. There'll be some lumpiness so don't drive yourself crazy trying to get it smooth. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake in the oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. For the last few 1-2 minutes you may want to baste with some melted butter to get a nice crispy, golden brown crust.
Now besides being thankful for the fruits of our labor, this is also a great time to focus on the skills that we have since this is also known as the Festival of Lugh. Lugh is not only a God of Light, but also of arts, crafts, and skilled work! With honoring the God Lugh, games and sports are played to celebrate strength and good health. What better than an afternoon game of horseshoes in the backyard! Since we're talking arts and crafts, items made for the household at this time are also blessed with good fortune. And because we're talking about a harvest holiday here and I love crafting incense from home grown herbs and flowers, what better than a Lammas incense recipe!!

1 part Acacia, 1/2 part Anise, 1 part Chamomile, 1/2 part Cinnamon, 1/2 part Meadowsweet, and a few drops of Apple blossom oil
Combine all the dry ingredients together and apply a few drops of oil for your scent preference. Apple blossom is rather strong so take it a drop at a time!! Once you mix it all together, set it out in the light of the sun for it to be blessed before burning!

Lammas, like Beltane, is a traditional time for handfastings. If you're already married or in a committed relationship you may consider a  renewal of vows or a statement of your commitment! Family plays an important role as well. Give your loved ones a small present to show your appreciation! As Summer's end nears, remember its warmth and generous sunlight as the nights become longer we are reminded that nothing in the Universe is constant.

I can be reached for life awakening readings at LivePerson and email or facebook. If you'd like any further information on personalizing your spiritual path you can send me a message at my email or facebook.

May this Lammas bless you all with lots of love, and have a plentiful harvest!

Celebrate Litha - Life, Love & Happiness!

The Summer Solstice marks the Sun's movement into Cancer at the height of summertime and a time for celebrating our abundance and happiness in life! Summer as a kid always meant being happy to be out of school and running with wild abandonment for as long as the sun stayed shining! The solar radiance is providing for our growing plants and helping them push for the final productions for when we get ready for the coming shorter days when we will harvest what we've accomplished to nurture. This is a great time to enjoy an afternoon picnic, barbeque, or even a traditional bonfire celebration! At this time we count our blessings, but we can also cleanse ourselves from troublesome problems, sorrow, illness, addictions, and general negative thinking. The Solstice marks a time of coming into balance and brings the elemental strength of the fiery Sun and emotional rainy waters together! First you might want to start the day with a fresh cleansing!

    • Take a shower and visualize the water bathing you in a cleansing white light. Let the water wash away any negativity. Feel the water absorbing through your body. Feel your own body's water level. After all, our bodies are nearly half composed of water. Feel the white light coursing throughout your body leaving you invigorated with life's blessings! Step out into the day's Sun and soak up more of the Earth's healing light.
    or..

    • If you're lucky enough to be living near a flowing body of water.. immerse yourself and allow your body to float on your back if possible. If you're not comfortable with that or the water is a little rough, just sitting in the water is fine too. Feel the water all around you and visualize the water being absorbed THROUGH you. Feel any negativity being pulled away from your body and dispersed into the water where if it is a fresh watered body, it will flow to the ocean and be neutralized by the salt, or if you're in the ocean feel any negativity instantly disintegrate away from you! Come out of the water and allow the Sun to fill you with it's light. (Hopefully you remember sunscreen too if you're outside!)

After the cleansing, make a list of the things you would like to continue to work to achieve and what you will want to "harvest" in the next few months. You may want to choose to anoint this list with some essential oil, or spray with a scent that reminds you of summer. Once you are done, say a small prayer or chant that you will continue to be thankful for your blessings received. Then roll the piece of paper up into a scroll and tie a red piece of yarn or string around it 9 times to seal your intentions. Keep this scroll handy as you'll need it at the time of Mabon also known as the Autumn Equinox! You may also want to burn a Litha inspired incense to help carry your prayers and wishes. Here is a recipe that I enjoy using!
    • 2 parts Sandalwood, 2 part Chamomile, 2 part Apple Blossoms, 1 part Mugwort, 1 part Vervain, 1 part Yarrow, 3 drops Rose oil, 3 drops Carnation oil, 3 drops Lily oil

Finally; if love has been elusive, this is the BEST time to perform magick for some romance! Many old superstitions and divination methods are available at this time to find out who it is you're meant to be with! If you wash your face with the dew of Midsummer morning, the first man to gaze at you will fall in love. In Ireland, it is customary to put 9 sprigs of Yarrow under your pillow to dream of your beloved. Since a good number of weddings take place in June it has ALWAYS been an Italian custom for me to place a piece of cake under my pillow for prophetic dreams of love. This started when I was around 12 years old! The cake tradition then changes that once you have found your love, you will continue to have "sweet success" if you place a piece of wedding cake under your pillow! The following morning it's standard to toss the pieces out into the yard for the sweetness to be shared!

I hope this has given you some ideas on how you can celebrate the Summer Solstice! It's always a favorite time of mine as I know I'll be getting birthday presents in a few days time! LOL! If you need any assistance with your holiday celebration preparations, are wanting some love spell work done, or if you'd just like to chit chat, you can reach me at my email or facebook.

Have a superb Summer Solstice and many blessings!!!

Celebrate Beltane ~ Awaken to Life!

With Ostara we celebrated the Earth welcoming spring time and the start of longer days. Now at Beltane, last of the three spring festivals and also the second major festival opposite to Samhain (Halloween), things are amping up to really be invigorating! This is when life is moving into high gear! Beltane is also one of the fire festivals, which is why we see the bonfire in symbolism. Long ago it was more associated towards blessing the livestock. If you had also made your "karmic list" at Ostara, now is the time to burn it!

For a more family oriented activity, you might want to have friends and family over for a cookout! Include a bountiful, fresh salad and also luscious fruits. Enjoy some s'mores if you're able to have a little bonfire! All sweets are associated with Beltane. You can also splurge a little on some flowers to color things up. Get a few different types; I know my local grocery stores sometimes offers 3 for $10, and make up little arrangements to give to your guests! If a May Pole is feasible, give it a go! It's a lot of fun and does look rather pretty! It doesn't specifically need to be seen just as a fertility symbol, as the dance itself could be for general luck and prosperity.

Now let's face it.. we all know Beltane is also the most sexually amp'd up holiday too! It is definitely more well known as being a fertility festival and of a time when magick is done if one wants to conceive! This is very much in tune with the Earth and keeping the tribe going. You can also enjoy a bonfire, if possible, and sip some sweet wine or mead. S'mores are also a bonus! Traditionally, you're supposed to jump OVER the bonfire, but probably NOT the best thing to do in front of the kids! This is THE night for "uniting" and enjoying all the vitality, passion, and pleasures it brings.

There are PLENTY of Beltane rituals online, so I won't post my version to go with the rest of them. Really though, just take a look at a few and pull something together that's more YOU. If you're looking for something a little more low-key, mid afternoon type of thing before the night gets kicked up; you might want to try The Chocolate Ritual. I haven't known one person to NOT enjoy that one!

And finally, as the opposite of Samhain, this is yet another time when the veil is thin. Now is the time to get in touch with the Faery folk. It's very customary at Beltane to place a saucer of milk and honey and offerings of fruits and nuts for the Fey to receive their blessings! I found Lady of the Earth to have an extensive amount of information on Faeries! There is also some great recipes on Herbal Musings; I've made a similar one to the fried honey cakes, but they were called faery cakes! :)

Beltane is one of my favorite holidays because it's just a time when everything feels so alive and revitalized! It's a time to be passionate about where life is taking you!!

I can be reached for life awakening readings at LivePerson and email or facebook. If you'd like any further information on personalizing your spiritual path, or maybe a fertility spell, you can send me a message at my email or facebook.

    Have a Bright, Blessed Beltane!!!

    Celebrate Ostara

Ostara (also Eostara, Eostre) or the Spring/Vernal Equinox is celebrated when night and day are in perfect balance. That is, they are the same amount of hours. At this time we are inviting the fertility of the Earth to awaken. So, it is also signifying the first day of Spring!!! Though after looking at weather.com the last couple days, it seems there's still plenty of snow for some of you! But, this is a time of fertility and new beginnings! Now is the time to begin those projects that you will nurture for the next few months to blossom and grow!

Of course gardening is something that comes to mind straight away and I will always bless my seeds that I will be using for the upcoming season. I also bless any plants that are around that they will continue to be prosperous in their growth! Now I will also say that I used to be one of those people that thought, "Oh give the plant it's water and light and it'll be all good.".. well, this is somewhat true. A lot of plants are extremely durable. But this is a time you can start learning more about your plants too. Some plants need acidic soil; like blueberries, azaleas, rhododendrons, and hydrangeas; while others do better in alkaline soil; which are most veggies, fruits, and flowers. Here is a great article called Acid or Alkaline? What pH means in gardenspeak that really puts it in a nice perspective! pH testers are available at many retailers. I picked mine up at a major retail chain for $7. My small point is that by better learning what your plants are needing; the more you provide to them, the more they will provide to you! :)

Since this is also a time of new beginnings, this can also be a time you can "clean" some karma. Take account of any injustices or misgivings you have done to family, friends, etc.. Write these down and through out the next few months until Beltane, seek to balance through apologies, paying back any past due loans, or any other injustices you can think of. When May comes along, you will burn the list in your Beltane fire celebrating the karmic "rights" you have accomplished! :) This is one reason for the picture I used.. My Name Is Earl was a GREAT show! I still try to catch re-runs when I can!

Because we are also celebrating the time of the sun bringing us more warmth, what better way to celebrate than to have a party. Bring the warmth of friendship into your home and create some lasting memories!! Besides, buying or making new clothes at this time is also a way to be celebrating.. see, you really do need that new dress for the party you're going to throw now!!

There are many ways to celebrate! If you need any help personalizing your spiritual path, feel free to send me a message at my email or facebook.

May you have a Blessed Ostara!
