Full Moon in Pisces ~ Harvest Moon

Photo: Huffington Post
The Pisces Full Moon came about early this morning and the energy sure seems to be a ZINGER! Reality seems to be setting in, but it's a good thing too. Let's not forget Pluto the planet of endings is going direct tomorrow! Saturn makes a sextile to Pluto on Saturday and we'll be feeling a little resistance or hesitation in our changes. And with the Autumn Equinox coming about on Sunday with the Sun moving into Libra -- it's ALL about balance! If you're in the Southern Hemisphere then you're having the Spring Equinox, and new beginnings coming to you! Actually, there's new beginnings either way... I had the thought earlier that "everything is temporary", and then I though HOLY CRAP that is just what this Full Moon is telling me!

I hadn't been as chatty in the last few days.. the week didn't start the easiest, and by this time it's almost a blur! Let me just say; department of motor vehicles! My husband and son are going out of town for a few days. My daughter's take home EEG now looks like it will end up being a hospital stay. And then my chihuahua who hasn't had a seizure in years suddenly decides he's going to have one. It had me feeling a little stressed and down and out. Like everything was just piling up. Then today it hit me like a ton of bricks...

#quotes #inspiration

Yep, I'd fallen into the trap of feeling like life was just soooo complicated! Ummm... did I forget we just bought a house in June? That was some stress! LOL! And even when our daughter had been diagnosed with LKS years ago; THAT was extremely stressful! And then just like that, with realizing I was further than where I was and everything is temporary; things turned around! The stress I was carrying melted away, I dusted my hands off and realized that the path keeps on going.

Throughout the Moon's cycles, there is a death and rebirth happening. During this Full Moon we are heightened with the Pisces/Virgo energy. Being in Pisces we might be putting too much focus on our burdens. We may be feeling like we are needing to sacrifice something to get to our happiness. We need to remember the compassion and fluidity of Pisces! The Virgo energy of the Sun, is pushing for the final distance, to have us do more before it moves into harmonizing Libra. It's best to take this time to let go of feeling like we are inadequate in some way. Put your attentions on being grateful for how far you've come from last year. If things are seeming like they aren't quite as good as they were last year, remember -- it's temporary! You may be at a high or a low, or maybe even a steady plateau, but like always, things will end and begin and you'll be able to put the experiences into perspective.

So take this time to slow down a little! Grab yourself a nice cup of tea, coffee, or maybe a glass of wine and take a moment to reflect on what you've been able to accomplish. Be proud of what you've done!! Let go of the things that aren't helping you meet your goals. Even if that means you gotta step out of your own way! And allow yourself to know that you do have the ability to move yourself even further than where you've previously been. DREAM BIG! You may be surprised at what you'll be able to create! Be grateful for where you are at in this moment, where you've been, and think about what you wish to manifest for your future!

I hope this Full Moon brings you closer to your dreams and more creativity and confidence! If you would like me take a look at what you can expect over the next moon cycle, take a look at my services page or send me a message at my email or facebook and I'd be happy to assist you!

Have a fabulous day!

Positively Manifesting

The last couple days have been rather enlightening.. First we had the Blue Moon; which also brought me my lunar return the day before. Jupiter squared Uranus yesterday, shaking things up a little more. And then today we have the Sun moving into Virgo and tomorrow Mercury follows behind. As I sat here wondering what I felt like blogging about while I was looking into some manifesting books someone had recommended, I suddenly had my word of the day pop up... at 1:11 pm. Now, I take prompts from the Universe pretty seriously. So the word that pops up is quincunx. WTH right?! I mean really, why would that be a word that should pop up for the word of the day? Of course I'm familiar with it; a quincunx is 150 degree angle between planets also known as the inconjunct. With this aspect comes a sense of destiny with also a need of adjustment. Which is making sense with what I'm feeling.. HELLO, I was looking at manifesting books! So I pull up my chart and see what transits are happening and what do I get? Well tomorrow I have Venus quincunx Chiron and then on Sunday, Venus quincunx my midheaven.  Destined career changes? You betcha. At least I like to think so. How? I'm working that out as I type away furiously! And while that's fine and good for me and what's been on my mind for the last few weeks, what about you all?!

So I got to thinking, "geez this week sure seems like it's been one of those for most people". Everyone seems to be wanting a change.. some of it might come about a little more easily and some of it will need to be calculated. We can't just run amok expecting things to fall in our laps without putting in the effort that's needed. The easy things we can get out of the way.. maybe it's more that we just finally accept what needs to happen and are willing to suck it up and get 'er done!! The harder things, we're figuring them out as we can. And that's ok! We don't have to get caught in the struggle. if we take a deep breath and realize that we need to get out of our own way and let things happen when they can; and stay proactive in just moving forward.

I say this after a good portion of the day has now passed away, I've gotten QUITE a bit accomplished in the last couple hours; even took a short break from this post, and got quite a few readings taken care of as well. And you know what? I told myself earlier "I want to meet a double quota today, I WILL meet a double quota today!" and I'm soooo close, I don't even have to question that it'll happen! Although my fingers are starting to feel like they're becoming a little numb from all this typing and writing! But I had my time to mull things over and now it's on to manifest some more! Just being able to accept this to come about, while doing my part, further brought me to the realization that I was already at the right decision when I started this post a couple hours back! Whilst I was looking at some different things, I did end up stumbling upon the little gem I posted at the beginning of this post that could help with your own manifesting!

If you're feeling "stuck", just pick one thing that you know needs your focus and what you want to manifest. If it's you want to manifest $100, say "$100 will come my way". If you want to make sure you work out for the day, "I will take 45 minutes for my well-being and health". Whatever it is that you may need to bring in, OWN what it is that you want to achieve.. don't just make it wishful thinking. As one part in the video says "Expectation is a powerful attractive force, expect the things you want, and don't expect the things you don't want." Have a real desire and passion behind the want and need! That's when the magick happens!

I hope everyone's been enjoying their week so far! The weekend is almost here! I'm thinking it's time to manifest some fun!

Many Blessings,
Andi

Celebrate Lammas - Harvest Your Abundance!

Happy Lammas!! Or Lughnasadh if that's what you like to celebrate! While usually I like to include a little bit of history on what the holidays mean, I'm just going to point you to my first post Celebrate Lammas ~ Count Your Blessings! where you can find out some more information (and goodies!) about it and give you a little cliff note version here. Lammas is the first of the three harvest celebrations; the other two being Mabon and Samhain. It is a cross-quarter holiday, halfway between the Summer Solstice (Litha) and the Autumnal Equinox (Mabon). On the Wheel of the Year, it is opposite Imbolc. While there's still plenty of time left in the growing season, this is a good time to make a blessing for further abundance to come into your life and to be grateful for what's already been achieved! This summer seemed to be a scorcher for a good part of the US.. I didn't notice it too much being in FL, but many of my friends in OH said it was either too hot or too rainy and they didn't get to enjoy the summer very much. But the cooler temps with bonfire get together's and the anticipation of getting the kiddos back into the routine of school is being welcomed! But since it's the cooler season now there is some GREAT gardening that can be done! So check out Vegetables and Herbs to Plant in August or I'm sure you can check the month of September too if you need some time to prepare, and also your USDA Hardiness Zone so you can better plan what you can plant as well! It's so wonderful when you're able to harvest your own food and you can feel a sense of accomplishment that comes from nurturing a plant while mother nature does her thing!

Now.. I'm sure you're wondering what's with the picture I used too! Maybe you saw it posted on my instagram or twitter account! It's the goody I'm including for this post! This is my Lammas Harvest Tarot Spread! And here's how it works... The layout itself is a basket! There are 6 cards to symbolize balance, service, home and domesticness, and responsibility. The number 6 in numerology also has ties to agriculture.. see how it all ties in!? Here is what each card represents...

Card #1 - Where I am at.. I received the Queen of Pentacles! I took this as a good sign that I'm making the right choices in my business decisions.

Card #2 - Where I need to have more focus.. I got The Shadow Side since I am using the Witches Tarot, but most know it as The Devil. I'll take that as a sign that I need to make sure that I don't lose sight of what's in front of me and get too wrapped up in my work!

Card #3 - Where will I find my strength.. With the Six of Pentacles I'm taking that to give as much as I receive!

Card #4 - The help I will receive unexpectedly.. Oh the Fool.. you just never know the potential that is there until you try something different!

Card #5 - What comes next.. The Emperor blesses me with a solid foundation from the experiences I've learned from!

Card #6 - The bountiful fruits of labor.. Celebration in my creativity and lasting friendships from sharing and caring! Fabulous success!!

Guess what.. I also have the printable available too!! So if you'd like to add it to your journal, here is the doc and pdf files you can download! Take some time to count your blessings and to think about what more you would like to accomplish before settling into the Winter slumber!

As always, if you'd like me to take a look at things for you with a reading I'd be more than happy to! Just send me a message at my email or facebook! Also.. if you missed my tweet earlier; I am currently offering a special of an hour worth of chat reading for $100!! This can be spread over multiple sessions!! I hope you're enjoying your week so far!! Only a couple more days til the weekend! Woo hoo!!!

Many Blessings!

S&P: Synchronicity & Perseverance!

No, not Standard & Poor.. but Synchronicity and Perseverance! Today I was hit with a LOT of synchronicity (actually it's been the last few days!).. and the last one happened just as I uploaded this pic which was even funnier and gave me pause for another smile!!!

I am a total Star Wars nerd. If you didn't already know that, you do now. I'm actually a pretty big sci-fi geek in general and just bought my son the first 3 Dragonlance novels for his birthday since he's so into Skyrim and they had been one of my favorite series back in the day! Anyways, I'm getting off track! (that seems to happen often! LOL!)

So along with my synchronicity showing up through number prompts; I also happened upon this Japanese proverb earlier, "石の上にも三年." which says "Ishi no ue nimo san-nen.". In English "Even the coldest rock will get warm if sat on for three years." and basically translates to perseverance wins out in the end! I had to sit for a second and let it sink in.. trying is great and all, and for the most part it IS "doing". But I also noticed over the last couple days that I've been hearing a lot of "Well if xyz happens than xyz will be easier/better/xyz". You can inset xyz in any way! Like "If I lose 10 lbs. than I will be happier and have more confidence." or "If he calls me than he must care and want to get back together.". And that very well could be the case with things, OR it might not be. So that also got me to thinking that DOING needs to be more of the focus rather than just TRYING. Or even allowing others to do what YOU want to have happen. Which brought me back to another post that I had about Minding Your Thoughts. Because you can say that you might TRY to get something done, but in a way you're giving yourself permission to not follow through!!! And THAT is where perseverance starts to suffer!

If you want something to happen, DON'T wait for the perfect time. There isn't one. The perfect time is when it happens! And that could be in 5 minutes or 5 years. That's your choice to make too! If you're waiting for someone else to make something happen for YOU, DON'T. Because if it doesn't happen, you have an excuse that it didn't happen because of them. And that can cause resentment when there doesn't need to be any. Take the responsibility on yourself to make things within your life exactly as you want. And don't get me wrong, there are circumstances with everything. But unless you actually put in the effort to see if what you want can happen, you can't be upset when they don't manifest!

I hope this might actually give someone the jumpstart that they need to put something in motion that they've been waiting for!! Because there isn't any better time than NOW to get going!!!

If there's something you would like me to take a look at for you with a reading so you can get some better clarity within a situation, feel free to send me a message on facebook or email and I'll be happy to help!

Have an awesome weekend!
Andi

P.S. Yesterday's post was my 100th blog post!!!! YIPPEE!!!!! And I hadn't even noticed until just now! :)

Full Moon in Leo

Leo Fairy - @ Etsy by Fairies By Nuria
The Full Moon in Leo occurs at 11:38 PM EST on Saturday and is the first Full Moon of the new year! With the energy being on the Leo/Aquarius axis the feeling of creativity within ourselves that we can share with others is brought to light! The ruler of Leo is, of course, our life force the Sun. Leo rules the 5th house; our house of creativity, among other things. It's one reason I picked the picture to use. I LOVE Etsy!! There are some awesomely creative artists on there! And sooner or later I'll be putting up some of my work there; both artwork and magickal items that I make such as incense, herbal body sprays and perfumes, household sprays, etc. Aquarius' rules the 11th house; our house of friendships and hopes and dreams. The traditional ruler of Aquarius is Saturn which also is the ruler of Capricorn.

And so the The New Moon in Capricorn that occurred on January 11th, gave us the need to find direction and security in our emotions. Now that we're at the Full Moon we are at a culminating point of feeling that the way we express our individuality will directly affect the way we feel about ourselves in a way that also reflects our self confidence to others... But that's not always so easy to come to terms with at times either and we all have our own doubts with the hopes and dreams we wish to achieve. So what better time than the Full Moon to cast a spell to cast out our doubts! Saturday is ruled by Saturn as well, and since Saturn can be a little restrictive in nature, usually spells are done in a way of binding or banishing. You see how everything just seems to fall into place together? Such is the way of nature! And so, here we are with a spell to get rid of self doubt and to pick ourselves up with some confidence. Of course, you can alter it if you like!!

✪ Spell to Cast Out Self-Doubt ✪
Items needed: a red or pink candle (for self love), white candle (for cleansing), black candle (for banishing), salt (preferably sea salt), sugar, 2 pieces of paper, and 2 heat resistant bowls.

*Before the actual working you may wish to take a bath and place some salt in it as well to draw out any negativity, or a shower and visualize the water bathing you in white light!

Arrange the 3 candles in a triangle with the red candle on the left side (the receptive side), the black candle on the right side (the active side), and the white candle at the top of the triangle (the divine). Place the 2 bowls between the top candle and side candles.. this sorta makes a star out of the items! In the bowl on the left, place some sugar; in the bowl on the right, place some salt. Make sure you keep a little of the salt and sugar handy for the next part!

Take one of your pieces of paper and write down all your doubts and fears. Really get it all out there of what you're scared to achieve, any insecurities you feel, etc.. Place this in the bowl of salt. Take your other piece of paper and write down all that you're wanting to achieve, your positive attributes, etc.. Place this in the bowl of sugar.

Now take the paper from the salt, sit and think for a moment of the feelings and really FEEL the energy that comes from this worry, fear, anxiety... then say: "I bind my low self-esteem and doubt. With these feelings, I can do without. Take this negativity away from me. And as I will, so mote it be!". Light the black candle and burn your paper of doubt and fear in the salt bowl and toss some more salt into it to cast out your fears!

Then take the paper from the sugar and sit and think about how much you're appreciated by others, the friendships you have, the creativity that is within you and the hopes and dreams you want to achieve. Bring this energy into you and feel yourself expand in hopefulness! Then say: "I bring to myself creativity and love. With blessings from the divine above. These changes that I need to see. And as I will, so mote it be!". Light the red or pink candle and burn your paper of hopes and dreams in the sugar bowl and toss some more sugar into it for sweet blessings!

Take a moment to watch these 2 candles burn and feel yourself letting go of the fears as they're replaced with of feelings of love, hope, strength and the desire to achieve the best that you can! Hear the roar of the mighty lion!!

Now light the white candle and continue to feel, and visualize yourself as confident, creative, and successful. Then say: "For the good of all, with harm to none. As I will, let it be done!".

Continue to let the candles burn down for as long as possible, preferably completely. But if you can't, take any remnants and either bury them in some dirt, throw them in a body of water, or just toss them in the trash!

I hope this Full Moon brings you closer to your dreams and strengthens you belief in yourself!! And if you would like me to personalize some spellwork for you or would like me to take a look at what you can expect over the next moon cycle, take a look at my services page or send me a message at my email or facebook and I'd be happy to assist you!

Many Blessings!!

New Year's Resolutions & The Law of Attraction

It's that time again!!! WOW, where did the year go?! It definitely seems like for me that the last 2 years have gone by so quickly... but that's what having babies does to you! And then before ya know it you're working on their schoolwork! Let me tell ya I'm sooo looking forward to my daughter hitting the teen years this coming year! LOL!

So here we are with making our resolutions for the upcoming year. And will we fall flat with some of them? Of course! Two of the biggest resolutions that get made are to lose weight and quit smoking. Both exceptionally tough to maintain! But does that mean that we've failed? Absolutely not! Every day we wake up, and actually every moment, we're given the chance to make a change!

The Law of Attraction WORKS. But it's also something that can be misunderstood. Mostly because a lot of people are under the assumption that manifesting comes about simply by wanting it, but it really comes about by LIVING it and by being grateful. Let's take the example of wanting more money. By receiving more money there can be a false security that it'll bring more happiness. Maybe you can buy more things, but maybe the debt will also end up increasing as well... and then you're left at the same place that you were at when you had LESS money! It really is true that money can't buy happiness! Just as losing weight won't make you happier either.. the focus on one "imperfection" just end up switching over to another. Coming to a point in life where you're able to be grateful for what IS, makes for a more peaceful life. Accomplishments seem to come about easier and are more cherished when there isn't the stress to succeed! When the stress becomes a factor, the focus becomes off balance and we either desire MORE or we just give up and start the cycle all over again.

Do I encourage making resolutions? Absolutely! If you look up the word resolution, one of the definitions is; the mental state or quality of being resolved or resolute; firmness of purpose. It really is the conscious choice of making a change! But we all know change can be tough! I look at resolutions as a way to reaffirm what we just haven't been able to achieve.. YET! But as long as we keep working at them, they'll happen when they're supposed to.. NOT when we think they should or try to force them to come about! I am all for organizing and making lists. In fact, I'd like to share this great blog planner for anyone else that might need it from Confessions of a Homeschooler. You can bet that I've been putting it to good use today while I've been manifesting during this Full Moon! I know I keep saying that I'm going to try blogging more and keep falling short... but this time, I'm really hoping to make it stick!!

I hope everyone has had a happy holiday season and is looking forward to the blessings the New Year will bring! If you'd like me to take a look at what you can expect for 2013, please send me a message at facebook or my email and I'll be glad to help with a reading!

Be safe and BE BLESSED!

30 Days To Change

When I first had the idea for this post it was mostly based off of my post 30 Days To Finding Love. That and I've been watching the show 30 Days on Netflix! And then today while I was outside I had a volunteer come up to the house to see if I wanted to receive my ballot in the mail, which I already have sent in my info to receive it! So, on that note... PLEASE VOTE! If you need to register to vote, it needs done ASAP as most states require you to register 30 days before the election. Current election countdown: 37 days!! I gotta be honest.. I've been able to vote for the last 4 elections, but when you're young it's not really something you think is all that important and the last election was the first I took part in... and let me say, it was TRULY empowering! So get out there and vote because your opinion matters! And it doesn't matter if our opinions are different, everyone is entitled to make their own decisions. Which is what is really being shown on the show 30 Days! Brief summary; take one person who has an opinion and see if they can live with their opposition for 30 days. It really is VERY eye opening with some of the situations people are put in. Especially the episode where a man had lost his job being outsourced to India. If you can catch the series, definitely give it a look!

Now obviously this post isn't going to be like my other one, but hey that's OK! Today's the Full Moon and lemme tell you, it seems like EVERYONE is really being affected by it's transforming energy! I know I am and I can't wait to see what it brings about! And really it doesn't take 30 days to make a change... changes come about by consciously making a choice moment by moment! But within 30 days, or a moon cycle if you want to look at it that way, you really can bring about a more cohesive routine into your life! Routines and schedules are great! Everything in nature is routine. Heck, not to bring up 30 Days again, but the episode where he lived on the Native American reservation he was expected to wake up every morning for a run to greet the Sun! And in some ways there are routines that we have come to live with that we might not always enjoy; e.g. WORK! Lots of people are dissatisfied in their J.O.B.s (Just Over Broke). But there are those routines that we are able to create for ourselves that can bring about the change that we want for ourselves whether it be a better income, relationship, physique, or even state of mind!

So for 30 days, starting on October 1st.. let's all keep a journal (mine'll just be a notebook or maybe I'll post some to facebook too!) and every day until October 31st when with Samhain or Halloween and the Turn of the Wheel, see what we can manifest for ourselves! Write down at least one goal - go ahead and elaborate your ideas on how you would achieve this if you want. Be able to really solidify your plan within your mind and see yourself achieving success! Also write down at least one thing you are grateful for! It's important to reflect on the good things that are there in life and it makes it much more appreciative when success comes about.. and keeps you a little grounded! I would definitely like to see what you can create, so please feel free to send me an email or message at facebook!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend! (and don't forget to register to vote this coming week if you're not registerd!)

Updated Retainer Packages!!

*RETAINER READINGS*

A retainer is a fee paid in advance for services! Retainers are paid monthly and based on an estimate of the amount of work to be done for the client each month. By pre-paying for services in advance, a discount is also given on the services!! Here's how it works:

We'll say Tammy picks retainer package #2. She received two 60 minute readings the first week and a Reiki healing. Week 2 she opts for two 30 minute readings and 3 mini readings. Week 3 she has two more 30 minute readings. At Week 4 she has a Reiki healing and a 15 minute reading.. now at this point, she has only $10 left.. but because of the pre-payment she'll also receive a 30 minute session at MORE than 1/2 off to make up the remaining balance and she'll save $50!!!!

Retainer packages are GREAT for clients that know they will need ongoing services and can be completely customized to their needs!! I only take so many clients on retainer so as to make sure there's enough time for the clients that DO utilize this service as well as the other clients I help daily. For information on retainer  pricing and the services I currently offer, please check the Services Available page! If you have ANY questions feel free to send me an email or quick IM through Digsby on the right hand side of the page!

What You Do, You Be! Do-be-do-be-do!

"If you don't like something, change it. If you can't change it, change your attitude." ~Maya Angelou

"Things do not change; we change." ~Henry David Thoreau

"Courage is being afraid but going on anyhow." ~Dan Rather

I was thinking to myself earlier, this seems to happen on occasion! ;) And if you've read my earlier posts Minding Your Thoughts or Minding Your Words, you'll see this one follows along the same lines! Anyways.. It's sometimes easy for us to get caught up in the monotonous feelings that can be there. I mean, sure.. who doesn't want to be happy all the time for the most part?! And usually we're pretty happy with the way life is going, but then there's always something that gives us a little "what if"? What if I decided to quit my job and pursue my hobby as a career? What if I took the jump of singing in front of people? But if you don't take the chance, you would never know the opportunity. Because the opportunity is there... they'll always come around. But what you do, is what you'll be...

And this works in a lot of ways! It's the same with what you say. If you're always complaining and it's coming out of your mouth; it's coming out, because you've already thought it, it's been processed. Uh-oh. And now you're feeling like you've got a big 'ol F! So then you're grumpy throughout the day. It's what you're doing is what is going to determine what you'll BE doing while you continue down the path. What you say is what you think and what you think is what you'll do and what you do is what you'll be... see the cycle? Too many times we stand in our own way! It is easy to make excuses for why we do this as we'll rationalize it out to where it becomes acceptable to what we think and feel. But then after a while we are upset at ourselves for letting the time pass by! There needs to still be the understanding and acceptance that things happen for a reason.. whether or not we decide to take that leap. But the opportunities that present themselves are there for the taking. It is only up to us to make the decision on what we want to DO, for what the future will BE!

Here is a great meditation to help with mental clarity and allowing for new experiences!

Items Needed; 1 blue candle, 1 orange candle, 1 white candle.. place in a triangle with the white candle at top, blue to the left side and orange to the right.

If possible, make an essential oil blend with the following; 4 drops of Lemongrass, 2 drops of Bay, 1 drop of Basil, 1 drop Ginger, 1 drop of Nutmeg; anoint your third eye before beginning meditation.

Begin by sitting and gazing at the candle light. Watch as the candle flames dance and flicker. See the energy within the flame as golden energy as each day begins the blazing sun crests the horizon. Feel how that energy is a new beginning and eternal as it is there for you to take at any time, every day. Either continue to sit upright or lie down in a comfortable position. Take a few deep breaths in and let them out and begin to steady your breath. As you begin to slip into a light meditative state, let yourself feel light and airy... visualize yourself laying on a BIG, WHITE, FLUFFY cloud.. feel how soft and relaxing and carefree it has you feeling. Sail through the sky and enjoy the relaxation it brings. When you are ready, feel the cloud bring you to a clearing on the top of a mountain. There is a lush meadow filled with many wildflowers. Step off the cloud and walk through the meadow to a giant tree. The only tree that you can see. Feel it's strength in the adversity of being on this mountain by it's lonesome. You notice there is a desk with a journal on it under the tree. You see this journal containing thoughts on situations you've wondered about being different. As you sit reading though them, you realize that some are things you no longer wanting to worry about.. mark in the journal underneath the entry how you are done worrying of this and move on to the next. There will be some you won't be able to go through at this time and that is ok. Then you will notice the blank pages that are still there. Now is the time to journal what you are feeling of your "WHAT IF"... After you are done, re-read the journal entries you may want to revisit and also your WHAT IF entry. Close the journal knowing you are going to work on what it is you want to be so as not to have that feeling you didn't try. Climb back on the cloud and let it take you through the sky and back to the beginning of where you first found it. Let your body adjust to coming more into the physical. And slowly open your eyes.

When you come out of this meditation you should feel relaxed, but SUPER motivated and released of any failing negative feelings!! :)

If you have any questions on how you can connect with your soul's purpose, you can send me a message at my email or at facebook and feel free to leave comments as well!

Namaste!

Black & White: It's all about intention!

I had a great experience on Chance's radio show yesterday!! But I did want to touch on a few things real quick since we did have a limited amount of time. Chance had asked me about "white" magick vs. "black" magick, and I had focused more on how I see the difference.. when really I could of simplified it as this... There is NO black or white magick in all truth. The energy is just there and doesn't really "pick sides"! It is really in the intention of the person doing the working!! Now, here's a way to think of it as well... In art, black is the absence of all visible light, while white is filled with the complete spectrum. And if we didn't have black; we wouldn't have shadows, defining lines, etc.. And the same goes for white as it is the highlights! Black is just the absence of light, but that doesn't mean that there isn't anything there; while with white, EVERYTHING is there and very well could "overshadow" your main cause. So, we really do need both!

As I said in the show, we are souls in a physical body living a human experience. And we very well could say "I'm not going to get angry", but we would need to also see what the cost of that expression may bring us to as well. Sometimes you DO need to get angry! Anger is directly related to a PASSIONATE response. You need to have that passion in order to reach your goals or you become apathetic! Now, while I do resonate more as a Pagan, rather than a Wiccan. I do believe Wicca is a very good religion for some that are reclaiming a part of themself that they may have lost due to some oppression they may have faced. It definitely was that way for me! But as I walked the path, I also realized I WAS suppressing a very needed part of my life as well and that is why I no longer felt I would call myself Wiccan. ALL Wiccan's are Pagan, but not all Pagan's are Wiccan, and all Witches are not necessarily Pagan either.. I've met PLENTY of Christian Witches!! So now I want to go over some of the "rules".

The main difference between Paganism and Wicca is that Wiccan's have the Rede and Law of Three. The short version of the Rede is simply; "An ye harm none, do what ye will." Here is the extended version of the Wiccan Rede.

Bide ye the Wiccan laws ye must, in perfect love and perfect trust.
Ye must live and let live, fairly take and fairly give.

Cast the Circle thrice about, to keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind the spell well every time, let the spell be spoken in rhyme.

Soft of eye and light of touch, speak ye little and listen much.
Deosil go by waxing moon, chanting out the Wiccan runes.
Widddershins go by waning moon, chanting out the baneful tune.

When the Lady's moon is new, kiss the hand of Her times two.
When the moon rides at Her peak, then the heart's desire seek.

Heed the North wind's mighty gale, lock the door and trim the sail.
When the wind comes from the South, love will kiss thee on the mouth.
When the Moor wind blows from the West, departed spirits have no rest.
When the wind blows from the East, expect the new and set the feast.

Nine woods in the cauldron go, burn them quick and burn them slow.
Elder be the Lady's tree, burn it not or cursed ye'll be.

When the wheel begins to turn, let the Beltane fires burn.
When the wheel has turned to Yule, light the log and the Horned One rules.

Heed ye flower, bush and tree, by the Lady, Blessed be.
Where the rippling waters go, cast a stone, the truth to know.

When ye have and hold a need, hearken not to other's greed.
With a fool no seasons spend, or be counted as his friend.

Merry meet and merry part, bright the cheeks and warm the heart.
Mind the Threefold Law ye should, three times bad and three times good.

When misfortune is enow, wear the blue star on your brow.
True in love ye must ever be, lest ye love be false to thee.

These words the Wiccan Rede fulfill,: An ye harm none, do what ye will.

Now the Law of Three is simply that what you send out, you get back 3 times! So send out good, get good back 3 times as good! This is one I kinda never understood.. mostly because I'm a science nerd so I never really figured there was some sort of law that would change this other than what you send out, you get back.. plain and simple. This is seen in Newton's Laws! Law 1 states, "Every object in a state of uniform motion tends to remain in that state of motion unless an external force is applied to it." So as I said, magick is magick.. it doesn't subscribe to "white" or "black" until the intent is applied! Law 3 states, "For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction." Nowhere does it say that the action or reaction becomes amplified! I then felt that the saying of "All that is, is." was also a very good way to look at things in this way. So now we come to some more rules or laws..

Spiritual Laws of the Craft
1. No truth is absolute.
2. The Universe consists of opposites.
3. For every action there is a reaction.
4. We are all one, we are all connected.
5. The ultimate act of spirituality is creation through love manifesting harmony.
6. What we give to spirit will return to us.
7. We must never close our mind to knowledge.
8. A circle is a holy place, negativity is not acceptable.
9. The body of the witch is used to channel and focus energy,
tools are merely focusing aids.
10. Use common sense, to not teach the mysteries to fools.
11. Witches are not to give the identities of other witches as
discrimination still haunts the earth.
12. Acknowledge the presence of the Gods in your daily life through word and deed.
13. The Earth is a living being; take care how you live on your host.

The Practical Laws of the Craft
1. Never use a system you do not understand.
2. Do not set a price on magickal work (other than supplies and time/energy used).
3. Never use your magickal skills to show off.
4. Learn to banish first, as binding may be overkill.
5. Know that what is created it thought manifests in reality.
6. Never lie to yourself.
7. Injuries, sickness often result from low self-esteem, RARELY from negative magick.
8. Power grows in relation to wisdom.
9. Take great caution in using magick for negative purposes.
10. Never do less than your best.
11. Do not give into the negative words of others about your faith or lifestyle.
12. Witches are not to give the identities of other Witches as discrimination still haunts the Earth.
13. Do not lend out your Magickal Record.
14. Property owned should be guarded mundanely and spiritually.
15. Do not seek revenge; the Gods and laws of karma will punish sufficiently.
16. Respect the science of magick, but it is not sacred.
17. Sex is not to be used for ritual unless between consenting, mature adults.
It is NEVER used in teaching.
18. Teaching is not done for money, and must be in a safe environment,
with equal rights for both student and teacher.

13 Goals of a Witch
1. Know yourself.
2. Know your Craft.
3. Learn.
4. Apply knowledge with wisdom.
5. Achieve balance.
6. Keep your words in good order.
7. Keep your thoughts in good order, thoughts are things.
8. Celebrate life.
9. Attune with the cycles of the Earth.
10. Breathe and eat correctly.
11. Exercise the body.
12. Meditate, exercise the mind.
13. Honor the Gods and the Old Ways.

As you can see, many of these rules and laws are very much COMMON SENSE! And still contains the old adage of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!". Witches, Wiccan's and Pagan's are your neighbors, your friends, and your family! I really love the part in Practical Magic where the one aunt tells the ladies involved in their circle that "There's a little Witch in all of us!".

Celebrate Lammas ~ Count your blessings!

Lammas, often called Lughnasadh, is the first harvest celebration and while it does mark the middle of summer, most will see it as the beginning of cooler weather as Autumn starts to descend. It is a cross-quarter holiday, halfway between the Summer Solstice (Litha) and the Autumnal Equinox (Mabon). On the Wheel of the Year, it is opposite Imbolc. Since this is the first of the harvest festivals, and there's still plenty of time left in the growing season, this is a good time to make a blessing for any further abundance to come into your life.

At this time we are thankful for the first harvests of the season, mostly grains and fruits, and will include these in our sabbat feast. Traditionally this is a time to bake bread. If you've never made bread before, it can be somewhat tricky. Mostly because humidity (and sometimes altitude) plays a BIG factor in letting the dough rise! I've learned this the hard way that bread you make in CO, will not be the same sort of bread you get in OH or even FL and little tweaks will need to happen. Now, I would include my super secret bread recipe, but lemme tell ya.. it's a PAIN to get right. So in order to save everyone's sanity, I'm going to put up my second favorite bread recipe; CORN BREAD!! I absolutely love corn bread!! It's also really easy to make! Here's what you'll need:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup white sugar (I've also tried this with 1/3 cup of white and 1/3 cup of brown sugar! YUM!)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Grease an 8 inch square pan or a loaf pan.
  2. Melt the butter on the stove or in microwave. Stir in sugar. Add eggs and beat until blended. Combine your milk with baking soda and stir into butter/egg mixture. Then add in cornmeal, flour, and salt.. There'll be some lumpiness so don't drive yourself crazy trying to get it smooth. Pour batter into the prepared pan.
  3. Bake in the oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. For the last few 1-2 minutes you may want to baste with some melted butter to get a nice crispy, golden brown crust.
Now besides being thankful for the fruits of our labor, this is also a great time to focus on the skills that we have since this is also known as the Festival of Lugh. Lugh is not only a God of Light, but also of arts, crafts, and skilled work! With honoring the God Lugh, games and sports are played to celebrate strength and good health. What better than an afternoon game of horseshoes in the backyard! Since we're talking arts and crafts, items made for the household at this time are also blessed with good fortune. And because we're talking about a harvest holiday here and I love crafting incense from home grown herbs and flowers, what better than a Lammas incense recipe!!

1 part Acacia, 1/2 part Anise, 1 part Chamomile, 1/2 part Cinnamon, 1/2 part Meadowsweet, and a few drops of Apple blossom oil
Combine all the dry ingredients together and apply a few drops of oil for your scent preference. Apple blossom is rather strong so take it a drop at a time!! Once you mix it all together, set it out in the light of the sun for it to be blessed before burning!

Lammas, like Beltane, is a traditional time for handfastings. If you're already married or in a committed relationship you may consider a  renewal of vows or a statement of your commitment! Family plays an important role as well. Give your loved ones a small present to show your appreciation! As Summer's end nears, remember its warmth and generous sunlight as the nights become longer we are reminded that nothing in the Universe is constant.

I can be reached for life awakening readings at LivePerson and email or facebook. If you'd like any further information on personalizing your spiritual path you can send me a message at my email or facebook.

May this Lammas bless you all with lots of love, and have a plentiful harvest!
